An exquisite indigo blue and purple Banarasi silk shikargah saree. The motifs are woven in kadhwa style which makes it exclusive. Indigo denotes vast cosmic consciousness and purple is the colour of royalty. A very unique combination of all these coming together in this shikargah. A shikargah is woven only by 5% of the weaving community in Varanasi. This work can be done only by a master weaver, hence making it a collector's piece of art. The saree comes with a contrast purple blouse with a woven border.
Kadhwa weaving is a time taking process. Each and every motif is loom embroidered and often more than one person is involved in weaving a kadhwa saree. In addition to the warp and weft, coloured thread or zari is used to create an intricate pattern.
